why we always feel so 'OBSESSED' ??

‘ MERA BHARAT MAHAN’
‘ I LOVE MY INDIA
‘ SAARE JAHAN SE ACHCHA HINDUSTAN HAMARA ‘

Pretty true!! Is that really so??
We boastfully talk of our 5000+ year’s old civilization and culture... We take pride in our religion, region, caste, customs, traditions etc...etc. We are always self obsessed with our glorious past and ancient deeds. We get emotionally charged up at the mention of Vedas, Upanishads, Samhitas etc,, and jubiliantly describe its rich content and vastness of containing almost anything on this universe and even beyond in our religious scriptures and declare ourselves the saviour of mankind , purity and worthiness  and  just sit idle , relaxed and laid back at our present poor state of affairs ..taking false pride in our past.. simply doing nothing to solve the present mess and mostly cursing others for the doom and often looking into past for present days problems.

Another self obsessed section is of modernists who always looks into West for India’s problems and very emphatically declares that We are going to be the NO.1 in next 10-20 years. We are the fastest growing economy in this world. India’s GDP rate is very promising and we have the largest technical/skilled manpower base etc. etc. and no one can beat us in becoming the World champion.. Tomorrow is ours !!..they vociferously declare !!

Now..friends !! Honestly tell me.. is that the real scenario ?? What is India today ??
How is its strength (and weakness as well )?? Can we be really proud to be true Indian ??
Nationalist fervour and patriotic feels are okay.. but should we take false pride and always feel obsessed with us being great..n greatest..whereas ground realities portray a diff picture !!

You pl dwell on my thoughts..I will continue with this topic..in my next blog..
With best compliments..

  1. Yes and why not?
Our roots are deep, but our plant has just sprung up.We need the self assurance of our past to visualise a bright future.
Having said this, we cannot ignore our weaknesses. But if you look up the history of nations, we are at an initial stage of economic development. And we have to go through the same ordeals that other nations went through, at this stage, of their nationhood. Our democracy, with all its faults and short comings, has stood the test of time. And if we look ahead, our future generations are assured of a stable future.
