INDIA VS BHARAT !!

Hi friends.
Pl link up with my two previous posts: (i) why we remain so self obsessed?? (ii) lets do ‘introspection’..
Well.. Its again India vs. Bharat..

India is shining.. Moving ahead.. Going strong in this 21st century..emerging as strong economic entity.. GDP growth rising.. Developmental works going on fast spree.. People feeling reassured that we are marching ahead towards more prosperous, brighter and more comfortable life.. But this scene is merely for a small segment of our Indian populace.. May be 10-15 %.. or if we are more enthusiast about our achievements.. then let us extrapolate this figure ..May be upto 20-25% (this includes a major chunk of fast moving upper middleclass group.. But what what about the rest..the real Bharat >> ??

My brother moved to US quite some times back..as he saw greener pastures thee for himself.. I have strong reservations still for his move and I do not approve of the same still..(I’ll deliberate about it ..sometimes later..)..But I totally agree with his contention. .when during his last visit here.. he simply laughed at and ridiculed : “ Is this the development..you are boasting of ?? Du feel.. by simply building flyovers. Shopping malls, multiplexes ..high rise apartments and structures..and donning Mcdonalds, Pizza huts and other international brands, India has developed ?? What is the condition of average Indian ?? Is he happy , satisfied and prospering ?”

The real Bharat is still lamenting with the onslaught of all dire necessities for his survival. There are hundreds and thousands of villages.. who are short of potable water, roads, infrastructure . general amenities.. Urban population is no less deprived of these requirements either.. There is still 65% of our population illiterate, poor living in shattered dingy unhygienic condition..everyday toiling hard for its survival in this cruel world. Millions have been uprooted from their home.. migrating to greener pastures to nearby cities, metros etc.etc. living a life of hell. Adjacent to every big structure..develops a shanty of slums for migrant labours..n no one ever bothers where they all go after the construction is over..
This is because we have centralized our so called ‘development’ to few centres and left our villages, towns and common public totally ignored and neglected.. If we had done grassroot work at our villages imparting education, primary health and employment opportunities at village and town levels.. the scene would have been totally different..

Problem is not this that we have erred in our plans.. cause of more concern is this that we still do not realize the need of doing suitable amends..reach out to common masses and do some real positive work for upliftment of our fellow countrymen who live in Bharat..

India can never prosper if Bharat is left behind.. and more cruelsome would be to see India prospering at the cost of Bharat..

Think a little bit..please

  1. I do agree to your view on India Vs. Bharat. The disparity between haves and have nots is rising, despite of more than six decades of self-rule. The reason is that our policies have always been made by copying the west, whereas our needs are altogether different. Until this is understood and incorporated into government policies, the gap will remain and widen between India and Bharat.

  2. yes.. and that gap is alarmingly widening..with no action plan in sight by our bhagya vidhata's. As per Sengupta committee report, there are more than 80 crores indians whose daily earning is not even more than just 20/- .
its indeed a very unfortunate state of affairs when no one seems to be seriously concerned about changing the trend..
